Join the PSO Leadership Team – Vice President Needed
The Heart of Ohio Classical Academy Parent Service Organization (HOCA PSO), is a nonprofit 501(c)3 dedicated to supporting the school's mission through volunteerism, fundraising, and collaborative initiatives.
While a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and a Parent Service Organization (PSO) may look similar on the surface, their core purposes set them apart.
A PTO is typically a parent-led group that may engage in advocacy, policy discussions, or influence school decisions, in addition to organizing volunteers and fundraising efforts.
In contrast, the HOCA PSO is designed to reflect and support the school’s core mission. Rather than serving as a platform for policy-making or advocacy, the PSO focuses on service—supporting the school community through volunteer work, fundraising, and other collaborative efforts.
The goal of a PSO is to work in partnership with school leadership and faculty, reinforcing the school’s educational and cultural values through acts of service and community-building, while leaving governance and decision-making to those entrusted with those responsibilities.
Any parent, guardian, or other adult legally recognized in loco parentis for a student enrolled at Cincinnati Classical Academy in good standing is automatically a member of the PSO.
We will communicate through the weekly Pulse for volunteer interest. Throughout the year, we will also share volunteer needs and sign-up links regularly. Please be on the lookout thorough our Facebook page as well (Heart of Ohio Classical Academy Parents).
